We know how it feels: You’ve been cleaning all day and you finally get to the last room of your house and everything just starts to go wrong. The soap scum in your bathtub isn’t coming off easily and you left the Windex to clean your mirror downstairs. Then you start to wonder, “What if there was an faster and easier way to clean my house?” So today, we’ve compiled a list of 5 cleaning hacks that will seriously save your sanity and your time.
1. The Kitchen Sink
Mix equal parts baking soda and lemon juice until it compiles into a paste. Rub that paste all over the sink, pour it down the sink drain, and then flush it out with hot water to ensure that it doesn’t clog. This solution is cheap, smells fantastic, and leaves your sink looking shiny and new.
2. The Stainless Steel Fridge
Spray your refrigerator with white vinegar and then wipe it away. Add a drop of coconut oil to your cloth and buff it into stainless steel to remove fingerprints or smudges.
3. The Mattress
To get rid of any oils or odours, sprinkle some baking soda on your mattress twice a year (when rotating the mattress). Leave it for a few hours, and then vacuum it up.
4. The Blinds
Mix one cup water, one cup vinegar, one cup witch hazel, and three drops Dawn dish soap into a spray bottle and shake it well. Spray the concoction on the microfibre cloth and wipe the blinds.
5. The Windows and Mirrors
If your windows and mirrors are in need of a heavy-duty cleaning, try this grime-removing solution: mix four tablespoons of Castile or dish soap, four tablespoons rubbing alcohol, and a half gallon of warm water. Use a squeegee for a streak-free shine!
